The 'Essentials edition' contains about 750 plants with about 850 pictures
(100
low, 600 medium and 150 high resolution pictures), and 600 plant latin
name pronunciations.
(650 megabytes supplied on a CD)
The Essentials edition has a 'cut-down' demonstration dataset and so there are a
large number of popular plants such as Tulips and Pine trees that are not included,
and only a relatively few species and varieties of other plants.
The majority of the plants are those growing in the 'more populated' regions of Britain
& Europe, the USA & Canada, Japan, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand
etc.
There are about the following numbers of plant 'types' in the Essentials edition...
160 trees, 400 shrubs, 200 herbaceous, 10 vegetables, 50 climbing, 15
aquatic, 300 orchids, 10 palms, 20 grasses, 15 cacti, 10 ferns, 50 hedging, 70 very fragrant, 40 indoor, 20 wildflowers, 100 plants for coastal conditions etc.
(These are given as approximate numbers because plants can be more than one
type. For example palms may also be trees.)
Includes the full version 3 interactive encyclopedia 'engine' with all the featured
screens for selection, display, data capture, management & printouts.
Runs on all Windows computers (see
system requirements
for more details).
An easy to use and
fun package, designed for people who want to try-out the benefits of the Growing Plants system.
This edition is also a cost-effective
option for classroom use to demonstrate the capabilities of a computer database
to pupils.
Your copy of the Essentials
edition costs just £4.99
which includes postage by Royal Mail to any country.
